VBS Program

Making Vacation Bible School a life-changing experience!

Saint Peter Lutheran Church is known for its Vacation Bible School program. With a program that usually serves 60-80 children, we begin gearing up in early spring, and the volunteers are hard at work until the kids start pouring in. This year’s program is, “True North: Trusting Jesus in a Wild World!”

On day one, parents complete a registration that tells us whether photos of their kids can be shared. We take a security photo for parents to keep, and then the kids join their group for the week in the sanctuary.

Each day begins with a singing celebration! The kids learn their songs for the week and practice them with a member of our music staff.

Kids get with mid-morning snacks as well as a full lunch and dessert. Groups eat together to increase opportunities for bonding and talking about the day’s lessons. Above all, they experienced the value of friendship and faith.

At each end-of-day celebration, we review the lesson of the day and practice our songs while waiting for parents and guardians to come by for pickup.

Every year there is an evening celebration. In 2024 we were thrilled to welcome more than 180 folks, our VBS kids’ friends and family members. In a brief service, the kids perform the songs they learned for the week and share what they learned. Then we have a meal and special playtime outside. Jumpy castles are generally involved.

We hope you’ll join us for the next VBS event. Be sure to sign up early!
