Saint Peter Lutheran Church is known for its Vacation Bible School program, and 2024 was no exception. With a program that usually serves 60-70 children, we begin gearing up in early spring, and the volunteers are hard at work until the kids start pouring in. This year was exceptional, with more than 80 kids enrolled!
The 2024 program was, “SCUBA Diving Into Friendship With God” and it ran July 8th – 12th, from 9am to 1pm. Our kids experienced an undersea adventure where they learned about the ever-flowing, never-ending love of God. With the help of an excellent program and decorations, they were immersed in the Word and discovered what Living Water is all about!
Participants were provided with mid-morning snacks as well as a full lunch and dessert. Groups eat together to increase opportunities for bonding and talking about the day’s lessons. Above all, they experienced the value of friendship and faith.
At each end-of-day celebration, the kids practiced their songs to prepare for a special demonstration. Every year there is an evening service for the parents featuring the kids, followed by a meal and special playtime outside. This year we incorporated our Wonderful Wednesday contemporary service in the celebration and were thrilled at the turnout of more than 180 people.
