Sacred Journey

Join us and experience Holy Week

During Lent, a period of prayer and personal sacrifice, we rejoice because it is a journey, a progression to the most beautiful day in the sacred calendar. Before we can arrive at Easter Day, there is Palm Sunday. With great sorrow, we recognize that even though this week began with the recognition of Jesus Christ as the true Messiah, it ended with the tragedy of betrayal.

This year’s Maundy Thursday service at 7:00 pm features our bell choir and a reenactment of the Last Supper. We know that Judas is among those at Christ’s table. We ponder in our own hearts if there are ways in which we too betray our Lord. The service ends with the removal of all sacred objects from the altar.

At 7:00 pm on Good Friday, we experience a deeply spiritual worship service with music, scripture readings, and the Solemn Reproaches as we commemorate the Passion of Christ. The choir, devoid of their stoles, presents “Behold the Savior of Mankind” and two other anthems with the accompaniment of a string quartet. The quartet will also perform “Air” by J.S. Bach.

Easter Sunday resonates with celebration. Between our joyous 8:30 am and 11:00 am services, we share refreshments together while the children enjoy an egg hunt.

Come and make Easter an experience. Join us on our sacred journey!
