Several members of the Saint Peter Choir participated in a Christian choral music concert at Ocean Isle Beach Amphitheater on September 16th. The event stirred excitement in the hearts of choristers everywhere, since the singers were conducted by nationally known composer Allen Pote, and they had the opportunity to sing several of his compositions under his tutelage.
Our own conductor, Lois Moore, coordinated Saint Peter’s participation in the event, enrolling several choir members and providing the necessary music to practice for the big day. She and her Saint Peter crew appreciated the stories that Pote shared about the “why and how” of his composition techniques. Lois also reported that she picked up a technique or two from Pote for her own choir rehearsals.
The concert was sponsored by Camp United Methodist Church in Shallotte, NC and was attended by 120 singers from as far away as Raleigh, Fayetteville, and Greensboro.
