A Memory By Rev. Robin Johnson
In January 2018, Eldon and I were blessed with the opportunity to join Vicki Carlson, Donna Godbout, Dave Goudy, Mary and Rick Jones, and Mary Page on a journey to Israel. We traveled with Bishop Smith and others from the NC Synod.
Some of the places we visited were Bethlehem, Nazareth, the Dead Sea, Bethany, the Sea of Galilee, and Jerusalem. And yes, you really can float on the salt water in the Dead Sea!
I have many wonderful memories of this trip, and many of you know it was the catalyst for spurring me to go to seminary 18 months later. One of my favorite memories of this trip was watching our dear friend, Dave Goudy.
No matter where we went, Dave would soon separate from the group and meander off with his camera. He blessed a number of people with his beautiful photo notecards.
Traveling to Israel is life-changing. If you get a chance to go, I urge to pray about making it happen.
